What's wrong with being emo?

labels = dumb non sense you are what you are and approvals from people are not needed.

There is NOTHING wrong with being emo. All my friends are emo and they are the sweetest, nicest people you could ever meet. But people never get to know them…they just automatically judge them at first glance based on their clothes and facial piercings. Before you judge someone you should get to know them personally.

If you like to label yourself fine…but it’s practically insulting yourself. I’m not into labels…emo is more about style, music, hair, etc…when you start to call yourself one…now that is just stupid.

True, labeling is stupid. So why do people label themselves? If you dress and act like an emo, you’re labeling YOURSELF as an emo. Same as if you dress and act like a ‘gangster’. Don’t label yourself as something and then expect to not be labeled as one.

nothing is wrong with being emo. I am but im kind of a mix of emo/scene/ and mainly metal. just ya dont cut yourself because its stupid and doesnt solve anything, you just hurt more…trust me I myself know and have helped people get past it. but the emo style…veeerrry cute, I love it!

theres nothing wrong with it but every where you GO EMO EMO EMO!! it gets annoying people need to find out a new style like a mix of things instead of following other people! honestly one day I couldnt decide there was a emo and a emo holding hands and I didnt know if it was 2 boys 2 girls or a boy and a gilr they both looked the same to me… im an indevidual I pic out my own hair style my clothes style and my attitude and stuff… the emo and scene are just getting SO OLD

Ok im going to try and actually answer what I think your asking here… I agree with what your saying it is just labelling like being a gangstar or a goth but… the reason why I believe they get put down is because they are known for hurting themselves and being emotional, which is something society thinks as weak and not right to do (I personally agree), hope I could help to answer for you! :) ciao

by calling yourself emo, in reality aren’t you labeling yourself, therefore; setting yourself up for more critical judgement. However; I do agree that people shouldn’t judge one another but lets face it we live in a world where we judge based on what we know, and outside (first) inpressions and appearances, our minds were designed to do this and no matter who you are you do it to someone or something regardless of how much you try not to or deny it.
