What's the difference between christians & mormons?

Between christians and mormons?

Answer #1

oh really ! strange. I thought God was ment to be better than anyone. wow.

I’ve heard of 7…or was it 8…levels to hell…but I think that’s catholic?

Answer #2

To be honest I’m not sure what the Catholics believe. I also believe that God should be the Utmost Highest. But, Mormons are on a whole different playing field. They are not even considered Christians, because they believe that Joseph Smith was higher than God. They do not pass out Bibles. They pass out Book of Mormons. They use the Bible only as references back to prove the Book of Mormon correct. I was Mormon for 10 years and when I started asking questions, I was chastised. So many that I have met do not like women, (only to reproduce) and they certainly dont like women who ask questions.

Answer #3

Short version: Mormons have an extra book, the book of mormon, about the golden tablets their founder claimed to have discovered outlining Jesus visit to the Americas around the same time as Christ.

The tablets then disappeared, however, teh book of Mormon & the “latter day saints” or LDS Church lives on.

Christians, on the other hand, think that the annointed savior only appeared to one very small corner of the world, and then went on to fire & rampage to spread the truth to the rest of the world.

Mormonism is unique in that it’s the only religion (to my knowledge) that claims a specific prophet (Jesus) appeared to multiple cultures, and that God didn’t forsake most of the planet with his proclamations.

Eg, Christian, Muslim, etc, they don’t claim that their prophets visited the Americas, China, the Netherlands, etc, to give everybody a fair shot at the news.

Answer #4

I know they believe satan and Jesus are brothers. a woman can’t get to heaven unless she has a man and produces babies. they have a secret society within the hierachy. that sounds like a cult to me.

Answer #5

Mormons also believe that you can become higher and better than God in Heaven. They believe Joseph Smith was better than God. They believe there are three different levels of Heaven (well one of them is hell and the other two are heavens I think) that you will go to according to how good or bad you’ve been on earth.

Answer #6

Christians adhere to the bible. Mormons have the book of Mormon. They have many teachings that are not contained in the bible. That sets them apart from mainstream Christianity.

Answer #7

TWIGY that’s so true. I’ve only ever had mormons or jehovah’s witnesses come to my down…trying to recriut! today I was walking down the street and mormons stopped me for a 1hr…yes 1hr chat…trying to convert me!

Answer #8

LILBLUEMM yeah I heard they don’t treat women well. my parents neighbours daughter used to be with a mormon man. he practicaly brain-washed her and she had to do agree with him.

Answer #9

“Eg, Christian, Muslim, etc, they don’t claim that their prophets visited the Americas, China, the Netherlands, etc, to give everybody a fair shot at the news.”

Yeah how dare Jesus not go to a land that wasn’t even inhabited yet. The nerve. and also, to my great shame, he couldnt travel to so many other lands in such a short life with the limited resources they had back then. I say we hang Him. =)

Anyways to answer your question: Mormons will knock on your door and give you a bible, where as Christians are more passive aggrassive.
