David archuleta is a christian or a mormon?

Ok well I want to know if david archuleta is a christian or a mormon? Does anyone know for sure if he is a christian or a mormon?

Answer #1

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) IS a Christian religion. They believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, etc. All the varied Christian religions have minor differences in their beliefs and practices of those beliefs yet they are still Christian religions. Even the Catholic religion is a Christian religion.

Answer #2

Well… maybe it was less OBjective study, and more SUBjective…

Answer #3

He is both. Mormons are Christians. I know, I am mormon, and I worship Christ. He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, and I love Him.

Answer #4

He’s Mormon. I found out from a friend of mine in church and an article about him.

Answer #5

You say that as if Christianity has no dark history of its own…

What religions ARE, and what they WERE, can often be totally different things.

Answer #6

It’s very simple. You’re a Christian if you believe what Jesus taught in its entirety. Mormons do not. Neither do Catholics. Catholicism started as Christian but drifted away as they changed their beliefs through history. Mormonism was started as a separate religion. One of the greatest problems in Mormonism is that most Mormons aren’t even aware of what their religion teaches. Not all of the teachings are revealed to them until they reach a certain higher level in their religion. People go on blindly and not really understanding what they are signing on to.

Answer #7

He’s Mormon.

Answer #8

The Bible teaches plainly, repeatedly and positively that eternal life is not only attainable but is (in one form or another) inevitable. It also plainly teaches that the goal is to live that life worshiping God in heaven, not to be the God of heaven. I am not criticizing a person believing they are going to attain godhood except to say that it is NOT a “Christian” belief in the same way that reading the Koran and praying toward Mecca is not a Christian belief. It’s not that they believe they are going to be gods that I take issue with. It is that they conceal the fact that they believe it so that people will see them as “just another Christian denomination” which makes for better PR. If people knew the full range of what they believe, most people would be so mortified (or in many cases, amused) that their church would not have the excellent image it has around the world. They are their OWN definition of Christian, at best.

Answer #9

It depends on your definition of Christianity. If being a “Christian” means that you believe there was an important religious teacher named Jesus who lived 2000 years ago then, yes, Mormons are Christians. If you believe that in order to be a Christian you have to hold the teachings of the Bible (specifically the teachings of Jesus Christ) as the DEFINITIVE source of God’s truth and that the God of the Bible is the ONLY GOD who ever was or who ever will be, then Mormons are NOT Christians. I am not a Mormon, never have been, but I have studied their teachings for over 20 years. All you need to know is that their squeaky clean morality is not motivated by a desire to SEE God, it is motivated by the belief that someday they will BE A GOD. You can decide if that fits the definition.

to prestondakness–

…and you are insane. that’s sad, really.

YOU know what I LOVE? WEHN people randomly capitalize WORDS FOR no APPARENT reason. it JUST MAKES so MUCH sense to ME.

captainassassin doesn’t “claim” things. He passes on what he actually KNOWS (unlike some people). You have no respect for your fellow men…what happened to “love thy neighbor as thy self”?? remember that little line in the BIBLE of which you CLAIM to use? yeah, I’m the mormon telling you to go read your bible. I don’t know who you are or where you get off making these ridiculous claims so all I can tell you is to go do your research. you are COMPLETELY in the wrong.

ps: who refers to themselves in the third person?!?

Answer #11

There are more than just TWO definitions of Christianity, which is why there are more than two denominations.

But… since you want to look at it in such a caustic manner. You can conclude that ALL Christians are on a selfish quest for immortality, eternal life… these can be seen as god-like characteristics.

So they are ALL motiviated by the belief that they will someday be a god.

Answer #12

It also plainly teaches that the goal is to live that life worshiping God in heaven, not to be the God of heaven. I am not criticizing a person believing they are going to attain godhood except to say that it is NOT a “Christian” belief in the same way that reading the Koran and praying toward Mecca is not a Christian belief.

That’s because of the way you’re looking at it. Mormans don’t strive to become THE God, neither do other christians. But they both DO strive for ‘righteous’ ethereal immortality, a trait that WOULD be viewed as godly, by those who do not have it.

Answer #13

Well me friend thinks he sucks because I like like him but he started to sing at his church. so haha trevor!

Answer #14

actually mormons arnt christians they think they are but there not believe me! they believe different things then christians do

Answer #15

Mormans ARE Christians.

Answer #16

He is technically a Christian but, Mormon is a branch of Christianity under Protestantism. Catholic and Protestant are the two branches. And under Protestant, is Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Mormon…etc. If it weren’t for Martin Luther, all Christains would be Catholic. So, does that answer your question?

Answer #17

actually mormons arnt christians they think they are but there not believe me! they believe different things then christians do

Actually they ARE… by definition and by practice. And I will NOT believe you, since you have a track record of ignorance regarding religion.

Answer #18

…amusing.

let me set the record straight.

  1. I don’t believe that a man named Jesus that lived 2000 years ago was just an important religious teacher, and neither does any other christian. I believe that Jesus Christ IS my savior and redeemer (who forgets that little part??), AS WELL AS the master teacher in all things.

  2. I believe the Bible to be true as far as it is translated correctly. Same goes for the Book of Mormon. The two books are testaments of each other, AND Jesus Christ. both teach of Christ and testify of Him. don’t tell me the Book of Mormon doesn’t testify of Christ.

  3. The God of the Bible…our Heavenly Father is THE God. but you are forgetting about two others…God the son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Ghost. Three Gods…not one.

  4. We believe in morality because we want to be good people. we try our best to keep the commandments of God…isn’t that what all christians strive to do? We believe in being the best we can be…and that even after that, because we are all sinners, we need the grace of god to recieve eternal life. tell me how that doesn’t show that we worship Christ.

  5. We believe that if we try to follow the commandments of God and keep ourselves pure that yes, we will be exalted, in which case we will STILL worship God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Our Father will still be THE God. Your understanding of eternal life and exaltation is immature still.

If you’ve been studying my faith for 20 years, then either you had a flawed teacher, or you weren’t paying attention.
