What's the best business advice you've ever read?
For me, ironically, I’d say the best business advice I’ve ever read was in “From Good to Great” which had some amazing business case studies. One of the things that struck me was about getting the model “right” of how you expect your business to operate. Thing is, there are basic rules in business (make a profit, for one) and legal issues etc…outside of those though, there isn’t a fixed roadmap to success so I’ve read a ton over the years about what to do, including what not to do.
If you’re into business, what’s the best advice you’ve read?
This quote really makes a lot of sense. I know its a billionare that said that but I dont know his name :)
“It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. It doesn’t matter how many times you almost get it right. No one is going to know or care about your failures, and neither should you. All you have to do is learn from them and those around you because… All that matters in business is that you get it right once. Then everyone can tell you how lucky you are.”
I like these also:
“The Internet is the first thing that humanity has built that humanity doesn’t understand, the largest experiment in anarchy that we have ever had.”
“Anytime you’re in a pressure situation you find out who’s going to step up and do it and who’s going to fade into the background.”
“Technology is always evolving, and companies - not just search companies - can’t be afraid to take advantage of change.”
Those where said by Eric Schmidt
What is true is that if you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original
I believe strongly that if we can each find our Element, we all have the potential for much higher achievement and fulfillment
Element-the place where the things you love to do and things you are good at come together
