What options do my boyfriend and I have about his being sterile?

(Now before anyone jumps on my case about this, I’m 19 and I don’t want kids right now.)

Last night, my boyfriend and I were having a serious talk and venting to each other about a lot of things that are going on in our lives right now. And after a while, we both started getting really emotional. And then, out of nowhere, he broke down and started talking about how he found out about 3 years ago (he was 18) that he is sterile.

Even though we both know that we’re not ready for kids right now, it really broke my heart. I’ve always imagined that my future held a loving family with the man that I love. And I realized that if this relationship is the real thing, I may not have the chance at that family that I’ve always dreamed of.

What are our options? Because the doctor told him that he is sterile, does that mean that there is no hope that I can ever have his children?

And is there any way that we can maybe treat his sterilization?

u have opt for test tube babies.. I guess

Answer #2

…steril meens that his baby maker dont work…

you could adopt?… there are a lot of babys that have no mothers and fathers… if yall cant have a baby of your own… you could adopt a baby that needs parents that would take care of him/her and raise him/her like you would your own baby

…one of my teachers… she cant have kids… so she and her husband adopted… and they love their adopted daughter as they would if it was their baby..

Answer #3

Wacko sterile doesn’t mean your baby maker doesn’t work it means your sperm can’t fertilize a females egg. Sterile people can still have sex normally.

To answer your question *heis: Sterile isn’t a disease it can’t be healed, it’s a biological condition that causes a man’s sperm to not be fertile, now that doesn’t mean you can’t have kids. Adoption or getting a sperm donor are both potential ways for you two to have children. Biologically they may not be his or both of your children, but emotionally you can love and take care of a adopted child or a child conceived through a sperm donor.

Pumpkin seeds for at least 2 months. It has multiple compounds each shown to greatly boost fertility in men by itself, besides being good for general health.

Answer #5

it depends on why he is sterile. Infertility in men is usually where they have asthenospermia (low sperm motility) or oligospermia (low sperm count) or a combination but there are options.

Sperm cells can be injected directly into the oocyte.

If the problem is little or no detectable sperm cells in the semen there is a technique which can work called sperm retrieval where they pretty much cut into his testes and look for sperm cells.

For some causes of infertility there are treatments but generally IVF methods are probably the most viable options
