What: my mom won't let me be independant?

All my friends are allowed to go out with their friends whenever they want to but I’m not. They’re the same age as me (14) and they just say “mom I’m going out. I’ll be back at 9” or something like that and I am stuck at home. How can I get her to let me be like my friends and independent? I would appreciate your help a lot thanks

I’m sorry but your mom is simply trying to keep you out of all the negative influences that the streets have. Its not like at 14 years old you can decide for yourself, you still need guidance from your parents. 9 is a reasonable amount of time, I’m not allowed out after 6 and I’m the same age as you. Your friends parents simply can’t cope with their kids and rather seem them happy then to be properly guided. In the meantime though, theres plenty of stuff you can do at home with your computer.

You can always watch videos, play games, are chat with people on funadvice. Your not exactly hopeless. If you really want to be independent then is best to prove to your parents how responsible you really are. I just want to say, you really should be responsible and not just try to fake it in front of your parents.

Hope this helps.
