What kind of water does hotels have?

Okay so last month me and my mom were on a roadtrip. On the way we stopped at a hotel. So I took a shower there and the next morning I noticed a big difference in my hair. I used my regular shampoo and all that but the kind of difference in my hair was it was more naturally volumnized and really fluffy on its own. Even my mom saw the difference. I didn’t even have to use hairspay on my hair at all to make it that way. Usually my hair can get flat real easily even though it’s very thick but for some reason, the hotel’s water just made my hair act the way I’ve always wanted it to act. I’m just curious, what kind of water do hotels usually use and why can’t the water at my house do that?

Answer #1

Yeah, and you can have that kind of water at your house (it’s just a little expensive). My cousin has that at his house and my skin felt like I took a bath in lotion lol

Answer #2

That particular hotel may have had a water filter or softener installed…they don’t all have that.

Answer #3

To expand on what ichi said, if you live in a rural area, there’s a good chance that your water has a high mineral content (so-called ‘’hard’’ water), which can lead to dingy clothes, water stains around drains, and yes, flat hair. If the hotel was in an urban area, the water has been run through a municipal treatment facility, which would remove all hard-water contaminants. So it likely wasn’t the hotel that had anything special about the water. If you’d walked across the street to the Pizza Hut and washed your hair in their sink, the results would have been the same.
