How would you ask ‘rate my pics’ on myspace? Well, they don’t have a Question / Answer feature So…you’d comment on others profiles, right? Or send them a private message?

They post a bulletin… its very annoying…

Maybe you should’ve read the ‘terms of use’ before wasting web space. MySpace & Facebook are all about ‘you you you’ …FunAdvice is about asking questions and helping people.

Posting threads, asking people to comment on your pictures is… pointless. And it helps no one. (FYI: asking people to massage your ego, only makes you more dependent on what others think of you… which is ultimately NOT HELPING)

You may be a little too insecure and self-centered to understand that.

It’s simple: We used to allow them and it totally clogged up the site with pointless “Rate Me” posts. So we banned it :)

You should probably re-read the Terms of Use if you are unsure what’s allowed: http://www.funadvice.com/doc/terms

We asked you to read and agree to follow them when you signed up.

It says 12)…We do not allow am I hot, rate my photos, send me an email questions OR answers - use the other site features for interpersonal communication or exchanging contact information.

I hope that’s clear.

Answer #3

I dont know the exact reason but those questions are really anoying if you go to your serach engine you can put in rate my pic and you can find a website that is specificly for that :)

Answer #4

No one is hating on you and you need to calm down. Posts like that WILL get you banned from the site.

No one is saying posting questions like that is ‘wrong’ it’s just annoying as hell.

Why don’t you try a website like rugorgeous.com ?

Or better yet if you don’t like the rules, why don’t you create your own site for picture rating and mindless posts?

Funadvice is about advice… not ‘tell me I’m pretty or I’ll tell you to go to hell.’ With that kind of attitude, I’d say you are a very ugly person indeed - no picture needed.

How is it a TOU violation? well rule 12 clearly states this site does not allow “rate my photos”

“12) Questions stating Can I chat, talk to me, phone numbers, etc, will be removed. We do not allow am I hot, rate my photos, send me an email questions OR answers - use the other site features for interpersonal communication or exchanging contact information.”

This isnt myspace, this site has its own rules and regulations, and an entirely different function. Myspace is basically for social networking, this site is for asking questions and getting advice, yes people can chat and talk to each other and rate pictures, but that is not the primary function of the board. Asking people to rate your pictures clutters up the board and in my personal opinion is annoying. I would contact one of the admins (editor, thedude, or lex_icon) if you have a question about the rules.

…you can use the profile comment or private message, here, to achieve just that goal - same as you would on myspace.

OR you can set up a group just for people to rate each other’s photos…that’s fine, as well.

Simple- we’re not myspace.
