What's wrong with me, is it pregnancy?
Hi. My boyfriend and I had sex on late 02/29 (early 03/01) and I was due to start my period on 03/16. We used the withdrawal method however it was a closeone this time. I had to ask him if he had ejaculated near more after he pulled out because I honestly thought it had come in contact with me. But, he said it did not. Well, on 03/10, almost a week before my period was due, I had this brown discharge when I wiped and I continue to be very nauseated. The next day it got a little heavier almost like a period, but not as heavy. That last only a few days and then I started getting this brown and pink discharge for three more days. During this time I did a cheap home pregnancy test that came back negative, however I did the test days before I was originally scheduled to start my period. I also got some brown discharge on the test. I’m confused. I have a regular period and I bleed a lot and it usually last a while. But, this was different. I bled almost like a period but lighter. Was this a period or implantation bleeding? The spotting went on for over 4 days, not including the 3 days of light period like bleeding. Did I do the pregnancy test too soon? What should I do? Could I maybe have an infection? Be pregnant? It’s just strange that the spotting (if it was a period) lasted longer than the actual “bleeding”. For me, I usually spot the last day of my period and it’s over with. I never spot before my period. I just start out with a heavy flow. What is going on with me?
OMG!!! I NEED TO HELP YOU… OKAY, FIRST OF ALL, THE “PULLING OUT” IS A GAME OF CHANCE! I DID IT FOR 6 MTHS. STRAIGHT UNTIL I GOT PREGNANT! SO IT CAN HAPPEN, IF YOU JUST SO HAPPEN TO DO IT ON ONE OF THE 2 MOST FERTILE DAYS A FEMALE HAS IN THE MONTH! and SECOND OF ALL, IF YOUR PERIOD IS NORMALLY DUE 3/16, and YOU HAD SEX 3/1, THERE’S A HUGE CHANCE THAT YOU COULD BE PREGNANT! WE OVULATE 2 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF OUR LAST PERIODS. SO YOU WERE RIGHT ON MARK! SO I’D WAIT 10 DAYS and THEN RETEST. IF IT SHOWS NEG AGAIN. IT CAN MEAN A MILLION THINGS! STD, CYSTS… (WHICH NORMALLY CAUSE ABDOMINAL PAIN) I’D GO TO AN OB/GYN, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR PERIOD WAS ALWAYS NORMAL.
There is a brand of non latex condoms called Avanti. I think they’re made by Durex. They’re polyurethane and quite costly, though.
You had sex at your most fertile time, meaning the odds of protection are smaller. Take tina’s advice and get another test done, preferably a blood test.
Good luck, fingers crossed here :)
TINA IS ABSOLUTELLY RIGHT the withdrawal method doesnt work. You may have just had an unusualy light period. I dont know about you but sometimes (and I am clockwork with my period) you can have what seems to be a lighter period and because you might be stressing it may have seemed even more noticable. Do another test to ease your mind but I think you should be ok. Sucks about your condom thing. Are there no other places that you can get birth control?
I dont think you are pregnant. I used pullout for a long time and it was fine. Not SMART, but I never got pregnant. and FYI if you go to planned parenthood and say you dont have health insurance they will give you birth control for free. I hope I helped.
Yeah, thanks. Still doesn’t help me with the now though…I’m sure it could be something else wrong with me like ovarian cyst or something.
I should get the pill, but it’s too expensive here at college. They try to take advantage of you and all and charge lots. And the lambskin condoms I am against…PETA…yeah…But, I should be more responsible.
you need to understand that THE WITHDRAWL METHOD DOESN’T PROTECT AGAINST ANYTHING!!! didn’t you take a sex ed class?!?! no matter what you say, fact is there is ALWAYS pre-cum. it’s his natural lubrication. IT IS ALWAY GOING TO BE THERE WHEN YOU HAVE SEX. pre-cum has sperm. be smart AND USE PROTECTION. you probably took the test too early. take another test or two in 2 weeks. false negatives can sometimes happen but false positives are very rare. if you want the most accurate test then get a blood test by your doctor. might as well go there, considering the fact that you’re worried there could be something else wrong..
I dont know if this will help but I googled non latex condoms. I feel bad for ya dude!
Been there done that. I am allergic to latex. Believe me, it caused some problems.
