What is windows seven compatible with?

Is it compatible with both xp and vista programs? Im looking to buy a new computer and dont know if I can transfer my vista programs onto a newer computer

everything I’ve thrown at win7 over the past 2 years has been compatible… starting with beta 32 bit/RC 32 bit and ending with ultimate 64 bit..

I wasnt convinced at 1st which is why I duel booted with XP for a few months to make sure everything worked, and it did ;)

64 bit version of win 7 will work with all 32 bit applications… so I’ve found anyway. I had 1 driver which refused to install and if I remember correctly was Nokia software updater.

but changing the compatibility of nokia software updater.exe to run in XP service pack 2 or 3, cant remember now sorted it out and it installed where it should inside the x86 forder…

there is no java 64 bit and the 32 version installs and runs as it should… as with firefox, dont think theres a 64 bit version of FF till 3.7. flash, shockwave all install and work fine…

get your new system with the best operating system ever made by microsoft ;)

yes, I agree with clawjaw. I have both version Window Seven Profession 32 and 64 bit. work great. Overall, it should nt be a problem when you transfer some programs to new computer with Window Seven.

it will compatible with your New windows seven. however, check to make sure you have the same version. if you have the Window Seven 32bit or 64 bit. you might need to check your old software program from XP or Vista that will it compatible with which version the 32 or 64bit… Some XP program is not working with the 64bit OS, because it was created fro 32 bit version.

When you buy the new laptop or desktop with Window Seven, it will tell you the Version, for example, Window Seven Profession 32 bit or 64 bit…

I believe that it is compatible with both because my laptop has windows seven but I got some xp and vista stuff on It! Good luck hope I helped

vista programs work with it, but most xp ones dont… though some of ‘em do.
