What is the name of a permanent pill to cure acne?

So a few years ago (around 5 years) I heard a friend talking about some pill he was taking that was supposed to get rid his acne and that it would never come back again. The only other clue I have is that a possible symptom is that his kidneys will shut down. I wanted to know the name of it. If anyone knows, can you inform me of the name? thanks.

its called acutane. it really really works, but the side effects can be kinda crazy. it causes: extreme dryness, peeling, redness, nausea, headaches, ect. most likely, you’ll only have the first three side effects, and they go away after a couple of months and your skin will be clear and beautiful (: you also have to do weekly blood testing to make sure its not harming your body (because it can react with some body types) and to ensure that your not pregnant (because it can cause major birth defects) if your really struggling with acne and have tried everything, I would definately try acutane (:

Well I haven’t had to bad of acne myself…but my mom had really bad acne. And so she went on this medication called acutane and you have to take it for a really long time and it really harsh. it dries out your skin it’s really hard on your liver and you have to get monthly blood tests. It does work really well though but it is a really big hassle. all I can really say is go see a dermatologist. and really if your acne isnt that bad then you shouldnt be worrying

Well I dont think there is a “cure” but there are medications that can help. I have not tried any but my mom had horrible acne…so she went on acutane. It a really harsh medication. It dries out your skin, it’s really hard on your liver, and much more. It has worked wonders for her but it’s a HUGE hastle. like: blood tests once a month! yay I’d say go to a dermatologist.

@samleepayton is right. Its also known as: Roacutane, Isotane and Oratane. Talk to a Dermatologist. :)
