What is the difference between genital herpes and genital wart?

I thought they are the same, can you please explain these 2 STDS, because I’m confused.

Answer #1

Herpes simplex virus causes herpes Several strains of human papilloma virus (HPV) cause genital warts.

There are over 130 strains of HPV. Some will cause no problems. Some will cause warts. And some cause different forms of cancer - cervical, penile, and anal cancers among others. Most HPV infections tend to disappear within 2 years (90%). Those that stick around longer tend to be the more problematic ones.

A vaccine - Gardasil - has been approved by the FDA to protect against 4 of the worst strains of HPV. It has been approved only for females between the ages of 9 and 26, but there are studies that show it would help prevent penile and anal cancer in men.

Hope this helped. To find out more info, go to wikipedia or google.
