Is shingles herpes? I have shingles ‘down there’ so does that mean I have genital herpes?
There are several types of herpes simplex…shingles being one of them (cold sores, chicken pox, genital herpes and shingles). I’m assuming you had this checked out by a Dr., and it is he who called it shingles?? I’ve never heard of anyone getting shingles “down there”…

Shingles is a type of herpes, but it’s more like chicken pox than genital herpes - although there are similarities, it is a different virus that causes genital herpes.
