in the U.S. (where I live) you are allowed to move out at 18 without consent. but under aged people may move out if they get emancipated and prove they are responsible. otherwise you can look into living with a different relative, friend or foster homes

In Canada you can leave at 16, but if you’re in the US, you have to wait until you’re 18.

There’s one thing you need to understand though - any item that’s in your room that was purchased by your parents, legally belongs to them and you can’t take it without their consent.

I was pretty much in the position you were in and probably still am. I think you should try before you buy so to speak. everything changes when you move out, its not the complete paradise you may see it as being becuase your current home is a bum. this may not make sense to you but ill try, look at it in the long run, if you run then what happens when you have a family and kids and the become teenagers and its like groundhog day but your in someone elses shoes, what would you do if your children ran off, thats what you did, and what you did as you will oneday find out, your children will most likely do as well maybe even without realiseing, so try to sort things out, be the child you would want to raise and live with

Answer #5

It maybe illegal to move out at 16, but I’ve talked to a few young people who have done it.
The problem is getting work, especially today when the economy is down. It seems no one, even the fast food chains, aren’t hiring. Be careful. My advise is to wait till your 18.
