What does second-hand smoke cause?

If your exposed to secondhand smoke growing up, will it cause the fetus to be damaged or affect the fetus in any way even if you do not smoke or are not around smoking anymore?

Answer #1

Many studies on second hand smoke have been inconclusive. No one knows for sure whether being around someone who smokes will damage you. And no one knows if it can harm your baby. But, if we don’t know one way nor the other, it’s better to be safe than sorry so avoid being around smokers. If you are not inhaling any smoke at the moment, either second hand or you yourself are, then there is no way it can harm your baby as it’s left your system.

Answer #2

If you’re not around smoking anymore, a fetus will be fine.
