Does ear gauges closing cause scarring?

Say if you were go down to a size 6g and decide to let them go back to normal 18g, will your ears be scarred badly? I mean I know ear piercing are already scar but you know what I mean

If it’s a 6g it would be fine and close up like a normal piercing you wouldn’t even be able to tell it was ever stretched.

The scar would look like just your regular 18/16/20/22g that closed up. (Mine have closed and healed before, when it did I was at 2g.)

I’m at 6g atm, and even when I take my tunnels out the hole doesn’t look any bigger vs. the 18g ones I have.

If you stretch your holes VERY big like a 1inch-ish you’ll have really bad scarring, cause of the excess tissue if it can close.

Chances are if a hole is gauged 0000g and past, it probably won’t ever close (also depends on your skin and if it’s stretchy or not), and in that case what they do is they surgically cut off the extra skin (a large part of your lobe), then sew it closed so it will form like 20g or whatever you want again. (They do this when the lobe is torn or ripped open as well. Even after having this surgery it can still be stretched and some people do it.)

a size 6 isnt a gapeing hole “jazlovestoskate”. a 6 is really small and will close up and hardly look like you ever had gauges. don’t worry about scarring

Answer #3

yes, there will be scaring but the hole will never close up they will fully heal, but a gaping hole wont close back up like normal it will stay a gaping hole skin cant reattatch itself once its already healed and it cant just grow new skin to fill the hole the only thing that will fix the hole is surgery, which just leaves you with more scars

Answer #4

yes there will be a small scar, but people will only see it if they are close enough to you.
