I really really love music

Ok I really really love music and I want to start college next month majoring in music at a liberal arts school I’ve already been admitted to. I have no musical experience at all but I want to play the violin. Before you say do whatever im good at

Im not good at anything because my mother never let me participate in anything in school

With that being said its clear to say with anything I major in im going to have a hard time learning. but id rather try music than something ten times harder like accounting and things of that nature.

I agree with suemagoo. The whole ‘go for it, live your dream!’ attitude is very romantic, but it isn’t very realistic if you’ve never participated in any music study before. You have no idea yet if you have any natural aptitude for music or even if you’ll like it as much as you think you will. I’m not saying that will necessarily be the case, and you certainly shouldn’t give up on your dreams just because you got a late start, but do not make any commitments you cannot easily back out of before you have given some serious time and effort into finding out if this is a good fit for you.

The workplace is littered, choked, absolutely smothered with people who started with a romantic idea – opening a bar, a restaurant, cooking in a professional kitchen – jumped in with both feet, and found out they were WAY over their heads.

Ok, I’d say go for it! I get what you mean. When I started college to do music Technology I only had a few months with my head in a couple of books I could only just make out what a few parts meant and I built my self up from there, now I have at least 3+ years of good experience. Good luck!

I’m a University Student Majoring in music, and I think you should save up your money and get some extra lessons on the side. The music courses are not as easy as everyone thinks, I still think you should go for it but you’re just going to work a little bit harder, Especially with the music theory which is one of the hardest things I’ve found so far. So if you decide to go, try and find a music teacher from the town your in to get some extra lessons. This will help you move along faster. Hope this helped.

Answer #4

go ahead they will not put you out of school because you DONT know how to play you go to school to learn not to be ashamed that you havnt partcipated in school activities. I didnt know how to do my job when I first started it took me a WHILLLEEE to actually get it down and packed but if you practice and keep your mind in it all the way and stay focused you can fulfill your dream and be the best “music person” there is out there so keep your head in it sweetie im behind you %1000 =)

Answer #5

my desire is sexual… hold on listen to what im saing…

I want my desire to one day cum true and that wont happen if im sittin on my arse all day doing jack

same applies to your music desire the only difference is is that you are doing something about to make it come true… your off to college so gd luck and I hope 1 day you get to sit in front of 10000000000000000s of people who have bought tickets just to see you :)

so to answer the question ‘What do you think about my desire honestly?’

id say do it if its your passion
