How do I get my 6 week old puppy to use the bathroom?

My boyfriend got me a lil chihuahua puppy 4 x-mas… She is so cute, I bought her some puppy pads for her to poop and pee on but she don’t… I mean she will every now and then but I want her to use it all the time. How do I get her to do this?

lol…thanks, im doing that…I give her treats when she uses her pads… If she uses the bathroom else where other than the pad I spank her and tell her NO NO she looks at me with those big eyes like I’m sorry… she look so cute when her do that…

It takes total vigilance and dedication…for about 2 weeks. You never let her out of yoru sight…and if you are too busy to watch her, you need to crate her. Rules of thumb are…take her to her pad immediately when she wakes up…right after she eats, and every 20 minutes or so when she’s playing…

Remember if she goes to the bathroom where she isn’t supposed it’s not because she’s a bad dog…it’s because you weren’t watching…Yes, you must watch THAT close. But only for a couple of weeks.

At only 6 weeks, you must get up in the night with her, too…this is a VERY young puppy (most pups stay with mama till they are 8 weeks…and they develop a lot in those two weeks)…

train him lol show him how to do certain things its not that hard it just takes a little time but gl with it
