What can I do to help myself get over a horrible trip on shrooms?

Hey guys, I am 17. a couple of months ago I tried some mushrooms and I completly lost my sanity. I believe I was traumatized in some way and I need some help. I have yet to find anyone who could give me some advice as to what I can do to help my crazed mind set. Now when I get high all I can think about is feeling guilty. Guilty for no reason what so ever, or maybe for something I do not even remember. I think in my head that for some reason I take on the traites of one of my closest friends and I can’t stop it. It seems like I always have to be the centre of attention and make people laugh all the time. I just want to be able to get over this ordeal. I don’t care what it takes. Starting today I havce decided to quite smoking weed. And maybe even drinking. I just can’t handle those feelings anymore. So can anyone help me? Would be most appreciated thanks. gR

If your not in the right mindset dont do them, there supposed to be a magical experience not something to dread. Maybe you should talk to a therapist and figure out if you have any repressed memories cause mushrooms definitely bring up stuff. If you feel you really want to do them be alone or with one super close friend and eat a few caps then wait about 90 minutes and see how you feel. Listen to calming music like bob marley or something or even watch kid shows like arthur and such. Whenever I’ve started to have a bad trip I put on The bernstein bears and it helps pull me out of that negative mind setting. Having a good trip is all about location and setting, be somewhere you feel safe and be in a good mood as well :) mushrooms aren’t a drug to take when your having a bad day to “escape”.

Know that there is nothing wrong with you, you don’t have to be scared of anything or feel guilty about anything. If you are feeling guilty about something from the past, that is the past, there is nothing you can do about it anymore but to move forward. Life is good, sometimes we have issues(everybody does) and we fail to see the small beautiful things surrounding us every moment. Just be happy because worrying doesn’t do anything :)

yo dude I feel the same way as you.. the first time was great, but the second time… I dont know what happened to me, I consider it a rebirth, like I had to relearn everything and I’ve never been the same since, if you got a phone or IM or a social site or something send it to TimeDaDie7@yahoo.com I can’t do any drugs any more without getting completely paranoid, I feel like sometimes shits gona just blow up and ill be the eternal insane. no advice I’ve ever had helped me enough to get rid of the thoughts, I used to smoke weed like it was my job and now a hit can send me to outer space. this experience … messed me up dude, Id like to hear more about what happened because I feel relative to your case. Get at me because I want to figure this out too thanks and peace out man

The obvious solution here would be to quit getting high? Since this is when it happens?

As for getting over the ‘trauma’, well usually people talk about things to get over trauma but I dont think that will work in this case. Psychosis is not an area I’ve much experience in. I’d consider talking to a psychiatrist.

Yeah taking drugs off is a good step, deoughs is the main cause of the not-so-smart things we do. S yeah, quit and slowlylet everything go.

Answer #6

Without knowing what you did that’s making you feel so guilty, I doubt anyone will be able to offer you the advice you need. It would just be a bunch of general, vanilla platitudes of ‘try and put it behind you’ and ‘tomorrow is another day.’
