What can I do, my mom is trying to kick me out of the house?

My mom does not live at my house and lives 50 miles away with another man. I used to take her kids over to her place but it became too overwhelming with school and taking care of my two brothers. I told her I didn’t want to take her kids over anymore and needs to work transportation of her kids to my dad. My dad works all day and has to in order to pay the bills. I take care of my brothers when my dad is working. Since I told her I didn’t want to go over there, she has taken off my door off, she has taken my 4 pet rats while I was away in class (got them back), and my mom left a note saying I have until Dec 1st and I would have to pay $300 rent a month. I do not have a job, I cannot get one while going to school full time and taking care of my brothers (her job).

My dad does not agree with my mom and is letting me stay. I am hiding my rats and my valuables at my nana’s house nearby. I am a good person and did nothing wrong to be kicked out of the house. Not a smoker, drinker, A grade college student, does not ask for money except when its for gas, or for small things.

Am I doing the right thing? Is there anyway I can protect myself from her doing these things?

At the age of 21, your mother does not have to lodge you or put a roof over your head.

She can kick you out of her house, and she can certainly demand you pay rent to stay there and she doesn’t need a reason for doing so - it’s her house.
