Ok. So I am taking a college class on introduction to criminal justice. and in order to pass it we have to do a ride along with an officer for a whole shift! I need your help on the questions I should Ask the person because I need to present it to the rest of the class. Thank you! please answer before Tuesday April 6th.

You could ask

  • what his/her normal every-day is like
  • how is the work-atmosphere among crimefighters
  • what jobs are there in the police station
  • how communication works. Do they have special codes for different situations or do they just talk plain language on radio?
  • what are the most common incidences
  • what was the most unusual incident/ case they ever had
  • wether he/she has been in dangerous situations
  • if yes: what it feels like
  • if it ever turned out they caught the wrong person even though they were sure
  • what are the common ways to find a criminal
  • how many crime-cases are solved/ how many remain unsolved
  • how realistic/unrealistic are TV-shows about criminal justice
  • wether stereotypes about criminals usually turn out right or wrong
  • and how to spot a bad guy ;-)
  • what normal people should do to stay out of trouble
  • what normal people should do if they’re in a trouble situation
  • what normal people should do to protect their home
