What are some good reasons for a job application?

Im doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award (you dont need to know what that is) and for the volunteering I got a place at the local charity shop. However, they said I still need to fill out an application, and I dont know what to put for why I want to be a volunteer worker. I dont actually want to be one, so I was thinking about either lying or saying that I dont want to be a volunteer worker, im just doing it for my DofE. if anyone out there has an idea of what I should do, I would be extremely grateful and if you recommend lying, please give me some suggestions. Thanks! :)

y don’t you just say its for the D of E and that you think you will get into volunteering by starting there. good luck and have fun.
