There are several variables to consider here…location, health, members in a household, etc.

For example, in my house there are four people and monthly costs (according to my location) are as follows:

Food: $500 Rent (house payment): $500 Electricity: $250 Heating: $85 (Since we heat with wood, I took the one-time cost for the wood and divided it by 12 to get a monthly rate) Medical: $0-$100 (Medical expenses are covered by OHIP, and we have a quarterly drug plan that pays for most of the prescriptions) Gas: $0 (Unless you are referring to fuel for a vehicle, then it’s about $60)

Other debts include: Cable: $30 Phone and Internet: $90 Home and vehicle insurance: $170 Life insurance: $50 Car payment: $250 Taxes: $90 Loans: $300
