How much does it cost to start your own personal site?

I was wondering if I wanted to start my own site, and not pay to have it advertise how much would it cost? Is there a monthly fee like rent or do you pay once and it’s over. Does the price vary? Thanks for letting me know

If you use another hosting site (like freewebs, for example) it is free. But if you want your own domain (“whateveryouwant”.com) you have to pay for it. I’m not sure on the price. If your site becomes popular, people will sponsor or pay you to advertise on your site.

Try Yola.com You can make a free website, then upgrade it and buy your own domain name and everything. It tells the prices for everything on their site. :-)
