What are some controversial thoughts or ideas that you have? Like for example whether or not god exists, or whether or not ghost or aliens exist…stuff like that? Some examples I have - whether or not death penalties should ever be given whether or not abortions should be okay whether or not kids should get a choice to attend school or not stuff like that, that most people can relate to or have an opinion on. do you have any ideas? or any thoughts about them?

Controversial opinions of mine:

  1. There are no gods, ghosts, demons, etc.
  2. There is no heaven, hell, reincarnation or afterlife of any form. When you die, that’s it.
  3. Morality is not absolute or handed down from above. Ethics are nothing more than a code of conduct that work well in ordinary situations. It’s a shortcut so you don’t have to think through every single thing you do.
  4. The earth is not being visited by intelligent aliens
  5. Bush was not behind 9/11, although it’s not unlikely Al qaieda had insiders helping them who have yet to be caught
  6. Voting is mostly a waste of time. Except in local elections, the odds that your vote will change the outcome is effectively 0.
  7. Taxes on wages are a form of slavery.
  8. People don’t know what they want most of the time, but simply parrot what someone they deam to be an authority says

Sure, I’ve got plenty of ideas that would piss a lot of people off, at least for things the US should do.

I think the US should start using a lot more nuclear power. Chernobyl is no longer a viable arguement against its use, and really never was.

The US should not have all children in the same public school regardless of talent, nor should it encourage all children to attend four years of college. Children should be placed on a particular track once they reach a certain age, based on their talents, skills, and performance.

The US should not only allow the legalization of euthenasia, we should allow people to do it while they are still in good health if they are facing a disease, like terminal cancer, that will eventually eat them alive and cause excruciating pain.

The legality surrounding abortion should be left up to the state governments, rather than the Supreme Court or any other part of the federal government.

The US should have a national sales tax.

I feel I’ve said too much…

hmm. ok. I believe in abortions, I think women have the right of choice. I was raped in the past and I know that had I gotten pregnant I would have liked to be able to abort it, plus there are far to many who are ill equipped to care for a child. I believe in physician assisted suicide. I think that someone with a terminal illness should be able to choose whether or not they want to continue to live. we arent given a choice as to whether or not we want to be born, I think we should at least have a choice over whether we want to live with an illness or not. I believe in gay rights and marriages, I dont think this is all that controversial but I know many who will argue against me. religion in schools, I think there should be both, they should have public schools and religious schools, but the children themselves should be able to choose which they would like to attend. lol if I keep writing I will run out of room so basically to sum up what Im saying, I believe in CHOICE, RESPECT and FREE WILL. I also know that many of the overtly religious people on this board may decide they want to argue with me or trash me for my beliefs, and yeah thats cool too. everyone has a right to their own opinions and youre all free to say whatever it is you need to say.

I often have controversial ideas and thoughts on a variety of topics. The thing is, usually I choose not to voice them. I know for a fact that I have my reasons for thinking, believing and understanding different things, which will often not be changed unless I get some compelling evidence against it. Talking about them often results in arguments, and I find it ridiculous to argue opinions, because it’s rare that someone backs down.

There are no Gods, angels, demons, spirits, Heaven, Hell, purgatory, or reincarnation. Make the best of what you got because there really isn’t anything else.

To maintain an effective democracy some redistribution of wealth is necessary to combat the natural trend of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Short of that there will eventually be no middle class, only a few very wealthy and the vast majority living in poverty.

Trickle down economics doesn’t.

Deregulation is usually bad (witness airlines, S&L’s, and the mortgage industry). Corporations can not be trusted to police themselves.

The more TV you watch the dumber you get, the more books you read the smarter.

Stupid people are reproducing faster than intelligent.

WHAT I B-LEVE(((IN)) god, hell, reincarnation;if you were good and like to come back instead of going to heaven you can come back to the place where you like, abortion, I think who ever wants to have kid should really think it over! And if they change there mind than too bad((if there already knocked up)) those women shouldnt be aloud to get abortios because of a doubt or change in thought —if u((willingly)) done the deed than you must have the seed—thats what I think…, same sex marriages; I think everyone has the right to be happy… Thats my controversial opinions!!!
