Can anyone assist me in losing weight?

Can anyone assist me in losing weight? I am seriously about 100 lbs overweight and have tried everything except weight loss surgery. it just seems that I cannot stop over eating and it’s taking a toll on my life. if anyone has any suggestions of losing weight please help. telling me to eat less, eat healthier and exercise will not help, as I’ve tried in the past and have failed time and time again.

It can be hard for others to understand what it’s like to be overweight, and nothing work for you. When I was 12, I was overweight. And all doctors/family told me was that I had to lose weight. Don’t eat so much, and exercise more. I wasn’t an emotional eater, I didn’t over eat.. It was because of a medical condition. I’m not blaming it completely on that, but it had a lot to do with it. After being put on the right meds. and a little work it helped. But I get how nothing works. It took me a few years to figure something out.

I suggest that you go to some type of counseling. It might take a few tries to find the right one, but it does help. Or maybe even join a support group.

But diet, and exercise does help of course, but check with a doctor just in case. They may recommend a nutritionist, and that could help as well..

Everyone’s body works different, and when you think you’ve tried everything…there’s always someone coming up with something new for you to try. Never starve yourself, that’s for sure. But try eating 4-5 small meals a day..When I say small, they are small, but there are programs like it where you can eat snacks in between, so your calorie intake is smaller, but you’re eating frequently. It won’t seem like it. It’ll take a while to get use to it, take some time for your stomach to shrink. Exercising is a must, there are some fun and affective ways. Try a local gym, look at different programs that they offer.

But really, the support group I personally found helped a lot. They also have good ideas for you to try

Don’t get too discouraged. Hope I helped:)

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”   One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

You didn’t gain your weight over night, so don’t expect to lose it over night. It will take time, but if you have the will, you can succeed.

Set your self goals: 1 week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you start achieving your goals you will be developing self confidence and it will be easier to keep achieving your goals.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Especially have a glass of water before each meal. Also, make sure that you do eat breakfast. Breakfast helps get your metabolism going so helps you lose weight.

Just be positive and remember, it’s all about YOU. What you want and what you are willing to do to achieve it.

weightwatchers seems to work over a long period of time. You didn’t gain the weight overnight, it will take a while to loose it. You just got to stay committed Good luck Peace, Sting

I tried the whole counting calories thing and it never seemed to work, I still felt deprived of food and was hungry at the end of the day which led me to binge eating. I have tried every weight loss program available, working out, eating healthy, and still nothing. I just lose 10-15 lbs and then gain 20… I’m at 250 lbs right now!!

just start by eating 1500 cals a day instead of 2000+ that becuase a lb of weight has 3500 cals in it and you take away 500 a day thats 3500 a week without much work add brisk 5 min walk a few times a day it will help

Thank you all for your advice and support. Unfortunately, I think something drastic will be the only that will work these days. Weight Watchers…tried it…lost 12…gained it back. If I eat 4-5 small meals… they tend to get larger and larger in portion…hence the weight gain… it’s like I have a bottomless hole in my stomach! I will continue on my quest though for weight loss… I will post if I come across anything.
