Was Biden more qualified ?

Was Biden more qualified for the VP pick than Hillary ?

Answer #1

Cthulhu – agree. Qualification in this case was based upon which VP provided the most united front for the party. A division just would not work long term and Clinton gave no indication prior to the convention that she and Obama could be a team. Obama needs a VP in the background.

Answer #2

Of course qualifications are just one part of the process.

Both Obama and McCain had to pick running mates that were compatable on issues yet compliment them and fill in their weaknesses.

I remember in the move Miracle where the coach said he wasn’t picking the best players for his team, he was picking the right players. He was assembling a team for the sole purpose of beating the Soviet team so every choice was based on that objective, not who was the best or most deserving player.

Obama and McCain are trying to build a team that will allow them to beat their opponents, not with the most check-offs on their resume.

Answer #3

I’m sure that Biden was more quallified to be VP then Hillary would’ve ever been since he has more ideas for Obama. But yet, Hillary would’ve been more stronger then Biden. I just didn’t like her ideas. Yet, Hillary and Obama would’ve been good together since they have pretty much the same liberal views.

Answer #4

Oops, I meant “I think so.” :P

Answer #5

amblessed didnt nickname her that…that was palin’s basketball nickname

Answer #6

I’d assume so

Answer #7

Obama thought so.

Just as McCain thought Palin, the Barracuda, was the MOST qualified for VP.

amblessed, I am still laughing about you nicknaming Palin “Barracuda”.

you crack me up. lol

Answer #8

utopia, you gave me Obama’s opinion, not yours :-)

Answer #9

In some areas yes, in some areas no. Both are certainly light years ahead of palin in qualifications. As filetofspam said, qualifications to be VP are just part of it, but any candidate should be qualified, Palin clearly isn’t.

Answer #10

I don’t think so. He has more experience, which is important as far as balancing out the strengths and weaknesses of the ticket goes. Of course that’s just my opinion, and I haven’t looked into it much.

I think the real reason Senator Clinton wasn’t seriously considered is that the primaries were pretty contentious, and some derogatory things were said on both sides. Even if there aren’t hard feelings, an Obama/Clinton ticket, would have given the Republicans a lot of footage to exploit in political commercials. It just wasn’t an advantageous match-up.
