Answer #1

You will need to go for courses to get Fitness Instructor certified. Usually you can apply at a gym for the job by the time you get Certificate III, but you may need to continue your course for the higher certificates. Check around your local colleges or vocational schools if they offer that course. You can also visit your local gym and ask them to recommend you a place where you can take up the course. Some gyms also offer that course on a contract that you work for them for a set amount of years after you graduate.

Answer #2

You could speak to your school counselor and gym teacher for good information.

Answer #3

All jobs have requirements that a person must meet to survive at the job. Sorta like paying your “dues” to be in the profession.

I don’t really know how much exercise you would need to do yourself to become a gym instructor, but I should think that you would want to practice what you preach.

Maybe a good beginning approach would be for you to begin “interviewing” people who are actually gym instructors. Ask them what they feel are “must” requirements for getting into the profession. Learn what studies you should focus on, and also where the instructor feels the best schools are for teaching gymnastics.

You may also want to see if you can make a list of other professions that do about the same thing, or are ‘related to’ the profession of becoming a gym instructor.

The more questions you ask, and the more research that you do, the better informed you will become. Get involved. You will learn so much more.
