How do I get rid of a virus on my laptop?
I opened an email while I was on my laptop and after I opened it.. my computer shut down and now it starts up but the says “invalid” “booting” and the nshuts down again what can I do to make it work and get the virus out?
You do need to take it somewhere to be fixed - you can’t download a program to try and fix it if the computer won’t even start up. If you have the recovery disks, the other way would be to use those although it would likely wipe any information on your computer.
First of all, DO NOT take it to the geek squad. Take it to staples, they do the same thing for SO much cheaper.
go to download.com and download adware or spybot run the program and it should clean it out for you
