Validity of God without consistency in believers??

I notice Christians saying that you need to read the bible to know about God. Yet they also say that everyone retains a different message from “His” word. If that is true, how is it possible that a certain condition, ie. the exsitence of God, can be seen as valid when not everyone even has the same understanding of God? And last I heard, God isn’t speaking up. Can there be validity without consitency? Even with God? Even when looking in the minds of those who concieve of Him?

Answer #1

Its ok babygirl…just try to calm down please? Religion always stirs people up…You puff your chests, and then you exhale. Everything is ok, I’m sure no one will hold a grudge :) I hope you not still upset

Answer #2

Answer #4

Answer #5

Listen, acemase, stop ok? I don’t want my question locked because you are being abusive. I want people with a fine amount of respect for others’ beliefs opinions to answer. not some jerk. And calm down Rebel…she’s just trying to upset people. Its ok =)

Answer #6

I asked a question that I thought could be answered by mature people. But seeing how you are unable to meet that expectation, I can’t rightfuly include you under that category, can I? Others have their opinions, but they are not being rude. Now I suggest you stop or you will be reported. Simple as that.

Answer #7

babygirl, I don’t stand for disrespect of anyone’s beliefs of values. We all have the right to believe what we want and no one has the right to challenge that. I don’t mind being called a “snitch”. Its ignorant to say that, but it doesnt bother me when at the end of the day, I know I didn’t stand for anyone being abused because of their beliefs. So call me what you will.

Answer #8

Your question focuses on others - particularly ‘inconsistent believers’ - know that no-one, believer or not is perfect - all are flawed - the better focus should be on yourself and the answer to this question: If I died tonight, do I know where I would spend eternity ? - you can know and I hope you do know the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus - Merry Christmas !!

Answer #9

nobodys wrong its opinions honey, my opinion just happens to be more factual and intelligent, chirches are a dying breed because people are starting to think for themselves. yes yes im an a** or whatever get over it and speak to me like adults

Answer #10

* Can there be validity without consitency?

No.

I’ve been watching your questions, and the process I think you’re going through is painful. But the end makes the journey worthwhile. Once your mind is free from the cult brainwashing, you’ll see the whole world with a new (and better) perspective. Enlightenment does not come from belief, it comes from doubt.

Answer #11

I dont believe in an invisible man that makes you worship him and believe he exists or you go to hell. if he is sooo powerful then why doesnt he come down to earth lol and show himself?

Answer #20

Answer #21

Answer #22

Keep your remarks to yourself don’t spread them around. My dad once told and I’m telling you he said the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut and let people think your stupid instead of opening your mouth and letting them know you are.

Answer #23

nobody cares where the bible was written from you werent there to prove it were you? so stop trying to prove it to me now cause I dont want to be prayed for people I dont believe in praying so dont waste any more of your precious time on me you already waste enough of that on church listening to the priest talk about stuff he doesnt even know is true and having you people stand up and sing about random bull.

Answer #28

Answer #29

you reprted me because you hate that I am not a believer of bs

Answer #30

That’s one of the fallacious about God. If everyone searches for God shouldn’t they all find the same thing? The same message. Then you hear “well God speak to each of us in a different way”. Well if God did exist I would say that’s true. Look at the middle east. Each of thoses religions believe in God and fight over who has the right message from him. Under this reasoning God wants there to be was in the middle east. Sound foolish doesn’t it?

So now we come to the bible. The bible was written after the death of christ. Its been added to. Taken from. Mistranslated some times deliberately. Mixed with paganism. Many stories from the bible exist elsewhere before they took place in the bible. Such as noah, moses, and jesus. How can anyone look at the true history of the bible today and put any stock into it?

So the only valid explaination is… There is no God. He is man made. Blessed Be

Answer #31

While he (acemase) is going about it the wrong way, I pretty much agree with everything he says, short of insulting people (though who hasn’t been there before)

And by the way…to any idiot going “UH GOD IS TRUE HAVEN’T YOU READ THE BIBLE???”

…HOW is the bible in ANY WAY based on PROVEN facts? Isn’t the majority of it metaphorical?

People who cling onto the bible like it’s made out of gold remind me about the South Park episode that aired last night about being Mormon…

In the episode, a long time ago, Joseph Smith claimed God and Jesus spoke to him and told him where to find golden tablets with decoding tools, and he eventually came to create the Book of Mormon by looking into a hat and telling a rich man to write down every word he said, without giving the man any evidence that he was being truthful about what he was reading, because Smith was told by Jesus and God that no one was to know anything about the tablets, and ESPECIALLY see them. The rich man went home to his wife, and his wife didn’t buy it. She said that she was going to hide the pages, and have her rich husband go back to Smith. If Smith was able to re-create the pages that the rich man pretended he lost, surely Smith would be telling the truth, right? Well Smith said something along the lines of “blah blah blah, word of God, blah blah blah, God is angry and will not let me read the tablets again, blah blah blah blah, we can re-create a new book that will almost be the exact same thing but worded differently”. It was funny because…don’t you think it could have really gone like that?

Anyway, while I’m not saying ANY of that is true at all and I am not pretending to know anything about being Mormon, my point is…can you, for one minute, try to wrap your brain around the concept that God may have been created by men thousands of years ago to try to control people, and that it MAY all be complete garbage, none of which is true, and that it ISN’T the “word of God”?

One of my biggest problems with religious zealots, mainly Christians, is that you have absolutely no ability to think for yourselves - AT ALL. Everything has some kind of tie with God, because He created everything, and your religion tells you that JUST by questioning it - you know, using that free will that He gave you - it’s a sin. Come on people…really?

Answer #32

acemase you obviously don’t respect anyone’s opinions or beliefs. You don’t have to be a Christian stop insulting everyone.

As for the question. I consider myself Christian, but I don’t see the bible as my way to God or the book that speaks only the truth, I don’t even read the bible to be honest, I just by heart have taken certain principles with me from it.

I had almost the exact same discussion yesterday with my boyfriend who is an atheist. To me the bible can be interpreted in too many different ways, the same with the experience of God.

Everyone experiences him different cause everyone has difference influences. So to answer your question I do think their can be validity without consistency because people differ. I also think that the bible provides guidelines and not all absolute truths in it either, because you do find some contradicting evidence in it and the fact that it is extremely old and in today’s society a lot of rules don’t apply anymore. I also believe that you don’t necessarily have to read the bible to know God, for me I look at the good around me and find God in that.

Answer #33

Hey Jax? I’m charliejack, I seen your question and wanted to take a stab at answering it . first off you do not need to read the bible , to become a christian, but like anything else.like a manual for working on a car, it tells you about the car the problems and how to fix it. well the bible is about who God is and what is his purpose in our lives, not everyone well become a christian, I was looking at some of the answers that were given, and there are some people who for some reason doesn’t believe in God because you can’t see him, well its like the wind you can’t see it but you can see it effects.this is a good explanation of that ,you can’t see God but you can look around you and see his work, I know that nobody is so mently disturbed to think that all the trees, plants, just about everything around you didn’t just happen by chance or an explosion, what it was is there was an explosion God exploded everything into existence. The best thing to do is not to listen to idiotic advice from people who try to get you to think like they do, because they don’t want to be the only ones left behind when the rapture comes, and they are left here wondering why they didn’t listen to people who knew more than they did. God gave you your own choice, you could choose him your satin, thats the great thing that God gave us the right to choose. he could have made us a bunch of robots and made us to love him,but he wanted people to love him on their own not forced to.So you go ahead and and make your own choice Jax.
