Why does it sometimes hurt to use tampons?

okay this is sorta akward but watever! I was wondering why is it that I started using tampons at like 14 and in the beginning it was uncomfy but not anymore but sumtines when I use one it sorta hurts ! My mom sed it cud b because its not in right but I check and It always is so I was wondering why does it hurt sumtimes?! It usually only hurts the first few days and I don’t know y.

If the tampon feels uncomfortable or you can still feel it as a matter of fact, then it isn’t inserted properly. If it was inserted properly you won’t feel a thing (no pain). You probably didnt push it in far enough. Coating the tampon with some lube helps with insertion as you’re probably tense and most likely forcing the tampon inside you…and I believe this is contributing to the pain you’re experiencing. Another thing…are you using the lowest absorbancy foy you period and not “super” absorbancy tampons?

Ya I’m using the low absorbancy ones.But what I don’t get is that It doesnt always hurt like its weird..I’m pritty sure I’m pushing it in all the way because I check to make sure that all I feel is the string! I guess I’ll have to try the lube.. AKWARD! Lol thnx :)
