track question...

track conditioning starts in 4 days. I’m not in shape and I’ve never done it before. my friend encouraged me to join, but when we run the mile in gym class, my side hurts after only a minute of running. how do I prepare? and what can I eat to help?

You need to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. When your side starts to hurt, raise your arm above your head to help circulation. also don’t step hard on your feet. Make full, long strides. start small and work up to your goal. drink lots and lots of water. two liters a day at least while you are running every day.

well when you do track you dont have to do the mile there are other races like the 100 meters that is a short race or hurdles there is more than just the mile
