“..I told her like im almost freakin 17 and well I aint gettin no ‘effin job and help them pay for da bills till I get my license”

The way you are talking doesn’t show that you are mature enough to handle a license. I agree with your parents. When you are on the road, you are responsible for the lives of millions of people. If my kid ever told me “I ain’t gettin no effin job to pay da bills” She would finish a long series of grammar tutoring sessions before I let her within three feet of a gas pedal. Your parents are not worried about the five dollars an hour that you could contribute to the light bill. Getting a job as a teenager is all about building character, being responsible, and having the extra cash in your pocket to pay for your own gas, and possibly insurance. Seems like you need an attitude adjustment. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

Answer #7

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘license out’, but if they were over protective, you’d have a cell phone. They would want to call you all the time to ask what you are doing. Something else is going on with them. Apparently you are already going places that they don’t want you to go so maybe you could prove to them by not doing that and showing that you ARE responsible (if you are) and that you CAN do as they say.

Answer #8

My sister had the same problem. She got a job. After having my parents drive her to and from work every day for a couple months, she sat them down and in a very mature and unemotional way, explained that she was not like her older siblings and didn’t deserve to be punished for their mistakes. She also brought up the point that they wouldn’t have to drive her to work anymore. My parents were sold.

Answer #9

just be like im old enough to get one so why cant I get one lol

Answer #10

lol! ehh im used to it! so I aint worried or offended by it! it kinda gives me laugh instead..

Answer #11

yea my parents well…mom mostly..is overprotective..like weird..and neither is a good reason for them..I told her like im almost freakin 17 and well I aint gettin no ‘effin job and help them pay for da bills till I get my license..and that DOES make them think it twice..but I want to try to hit it at another angle see what happens..
