Thermal energy

Explain why 1kg of solid gold contains less thermal energy then 1kg of liquid gold.

Answer #1

This sounds like homework. :)

Physically, the molecules that compose an object with high levels of thermal energy will move move faster and come into contact with each other more often than those in an object with low levels of thermal energy. If the object with high levels of thermal energy comes into contact with an object, those higher levels of molecular movement will transfer heat to that object faster than the object with lower levels of thermal energy.

Answer #2

Thermal means hot so when the gold melts that means it got hot. Gee isn’t learning fun

Answer #3

Because the melt the gold it would have to be heated.
