my son is going to be 2 in april and im not sure when I should take his away he is so attached to it I had it taken away for a mth and he went to my moms for the night and she gave it back … now he wants it more then he ever did before

Answer #2

As soon as possible! In fact, after a few month, try to take it away, since pacifiers are know to cause tooth problems. We stopped giving our daughter a pacifier after around 3 months old.

Dear dramaqn, There is no set time to take it away…every child is different. Some need the extra security it brings. So if you feel you need to take it away make sure you offer another form of security. It’s safe to say by the time they start school they won’t be using it. A very nice idea when the time is right is to gather them all up and tie some big balloons to them. Tell your child that the babies up in heaven need them now and let the child set them free. Sue….good luck
