Cutting puppy dog nails

Hi my puppie’s nails need to be cut my dad offer to cut her nails if I hold her sense she trust me but I talked to a friend he said I should go to a pro someone who deals with pets and cutting any advice

Answer #1

NO DONT DO NOTHING TAKE IT TO THE VETERTARIAN! o kthe dog has a vein inside his nail belive it or not so if you cut it you might cut the dogs veins which is VERY dangerous so take the dog to the vetertarian or leave the nails alone but NEVER cut them

Answer #2

With a puppy, just use an emory board…their nails aren’t thick like an adults nails…

Or…take her to Petco or another groomer, and they’ll do it for $5.00 or $10 buckies.

If you are really that worried about hurting the dog you can go to like petco or something like that I am sure. But you know you can buy nail cutters that have a gaurd on the back so you can’t go too far and hurt them.

Answer #4

You can cut her nails yourself but you need to be careful… If you cut too far you will make her bleed. Get those clippers for dogs at a pet shop. Hmm maybe if you dont know how far to cut you may want to go to a vet/pro and let them show you?

Answer #5

I have that new gadget that spins and files down the nails. I can’t think of the name but I got it on tv so target will have it soon. it spins and has a protective cover over it so the hair can’t get caught. you can take off just the amount you need, the nails are smooth, you can’t accidentally cut the quick and the dogs don’t fight it. if you use a regular spinning file for humans, the hair gets caught.

Answer #7
