The famous rick roll

I got rick roll’d on youtube and it I want to know what exactly is a rick roll and how’d it all start?

‘cause I really got pissed off I was supposed to get Adobe Flash cs3 for free then there is a music video that I must admit that the music wasn’t so bad but what the hell is a rick roll?
