How can i teach my dog these basic tricks?

He’s a year old, and a golden retriever. I got him a week ago, and he constantly jumps when he is excited. How can I teach him to stay, to not jump, and to come to me when I call?

What my friend did to teach her puppy to stay was she would say firmly”stay” and then she’d push her puppy’s butt down to sit. Eventually, it got to understand that ‘stay’ means to sit down and not walk off. At this point the puppy would be rewarded with treats every time she did.

make sure you are firm with what you say and push the puppy down and reward the puppy with treats every time they listen, if you can’t teach the dog yourself have friends help or find someone to help you.
