Should I talk to my doctor about seeing a phychologist?

I’ve had alot of bad and sad things in my life and i tend to keep all the memories and feeling pent up and not talk about them but here recently i’ve been taking out my anger on people without meaning to and i’ve lost friends over it. I can be super happy then be really pissed and then depressed. And no im not Bipolar. So should i talk to my doctor about seeing a physchologist?

Anytime you are condidering seeing a psychologist and feel that you have some problems that you need to talk through with someone - i’ts always a good idea to atleast consult one and talk to them for one session and see if seeing a therapist is the right thing for you. It wont hurt anything to try it.. and most people benefit from seeing one.

Or you could go straight to the psychologist? It isnt really necessary to talk to your doctor. However, you will need to talk to your parents. I would guess that most states have laws about underage teens needing parental permission.

You have no reason not to talk to your family doctor about this. Most teens are somewhat moody as a result of puberty hormones. Your moodiness could also be due to hypoglycemia, PMS sleep deprivation, food allergies, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. You should consult your GP to rule out other causes before seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist.
