My piercings are surgical steal.. And I can’t take them out. Will they set off the metal detector?

No they don’t. Last time I went to the airport I was ready for the buzzers to go off and they didn’t. :)
They will make you take your earings out whether you just got them peirced or not. They don’t care. Well, at least they made me.
