In case people do not know, an eye sty is basically a bacterial staph infection which causes a swelling in the eye’s oil-yielding glands.
A few home remedies you can try are:
Use heat. Hot compresses with as much warmth as you can handle.
Baby it. Be sure not to touch the sty or squeeze the sty. It will make things worse.
Clear it. Do not use eye makeup or the such near the eyelid. You could possibly transfer the bacteria on the sty to your makeup applicators and end up with an eye sty for the rest of your life!
Clean it. Use a mild soap on cotton cloth to gently clean root of your eyelashes to prevent sty from taking over. It thrives in dirt, so it is important to eliminate as much dirt as you can in the quickest time possible.
Keep it to yourself. Do not share your eye makeup or applicators with other people.
Medicate it. As a last resort, your doctor can approve medication.
