What are some of the stupidest laws on the books, in your State or area?

Another is that a woman of any age must not sit on her front porch in her house coat and slippers at any time during the hours of daylight. (I assume this had to do with having morning coffee on the porch, which many people do)

In Australia, the law looks after the criminal. For example, a person breaks into a house and the residents of the house attacks the burglar either with a weapon or some sort, the home owner/residents are charged with bodily misconduct. It is absolutely stupid, to think a person can break into a house, steal stuff but once the people living in the house dear touches or injures the burglar they are charged. There was a case once where the public was in an uproar over the home owners being convicted for protecting their home. A burglar broke into someone’s home, the household had 5 male residents, they tackle the burglar, tidied the burglar until police arrived and all 5 guys got charged for holding someone against their will??? WTF is wrong with this law.

Dancing is illegal in city limits. Wich is complete bullshit too me, I love dancing.

The dumbest law in my country, imho, is that people can have “property rights” in items that they do not physically possess or labor in - like stock shares; remote rental properties; or unextracted fossil fuels, mineral ores and other gifts of nature, to name just a few examples.

In Germany, it is illegal for you to have your car run out of gas on the Autobahn.

I could see where that would create alot of conflict.

What is the extent of the penalty if you should run out of gas, and do they tow the car off right away?

Yes. These days, it’s generally called “capitalism” (though it was true in some respects under feudalism, too).

Of course many of these laws were wriiten in the early 1800’s
