nah, I wouldn’t tell the teacher on your friend. people get into worse things & steal more than a $3.00 pen. it’s lifeee.! some people are like that, some aren’t. it’s a smart thing if you don’t steal ndd you dont have to be worried about getting caught… if you’re known as the “tattle-tale” life is going to be hell for you !! JUST GET OVER IT & MOVE ONN

Answer #5

in my opinion, don’t tell the teacher, but let the friend know that you are disappointed that she let herself be influenced by the others when she knew it wasn’t right. THEN FORGET ABOUT IT. If you end up holding a grudge over something this minor, you are going to have a tough life. It wasn’t right of her to do it, but it would be a bit extreme to run and report it. Everyone does dumb things when they are young. (If she habitually swiped things, it would be different. Then it is a behavior that needs to be addressed professionally, called kleptomania, which is stealing just for the thrill of getting away with it.) Good Luck!!

Answer #6

ok you are right stealing is wrong even if its two cent piece of bubble gum and tell her (your friend) what you think and hopfull she will do the right thing also tell her you arn’t going to tell this time because your her friend and don’t want her to get in trouble but next time you will tell hope I helped good luck

I’m a teacher and I think bimjob’s answer is right. You know your friend was wrong. Well done - it looks like you have stonger values than she does.

If she does it again, then I think you should tell a teacher. But if it was just once, then I think it’s best to talk to her about it and then forget about it. You want to help her to realise it was wrong, and help her not to do it again. You might want to ask her what she’s going to do with the pen, too. Maybe she’ll feel better about it if she secretly returns it to the teacher’s desk, or something.

I don’t know how you feel when people keep nagging you about things (for example tidying your room or doing your homework). But I think if you keep on nagging your friend about it then she’ll get angry and (possibly) be more likely to do something like this again, just to get back at you.

So in my opinion a good friend would challenge once, then forgive and forget, on this occasion.
