How can we find this stray cat's owner?

There’s this stray cat who is roaming around me and my neighbors houses these past few days. We found no collar on him and hes a very nice cat. But we couldn’t find it’s owner. The problem is that if it sees us outside it would just follow us around. My dad’s really afraid of him and when he was tending our garden outside the cat came and decided to follow my dad. I went outside to get the mail and a saw my dad holding a rake keeping the cat away. It was pretty funny. My dad was screaming, so I picked up this cat and dropped it off 3 houses away and he ran back to my dad. I decided to drop him farther away but every single time I drop him off he’d run off towards my dad again. My dad stopped working and went inside. The cat came looking for him, scratching at our door and mewing. He sat at our neighbors door for 3 hours straight. It’s been about a week now and he just keeps roaming around us. I’m sure this kitty is just lost but what can we do?

Answer #1

Get a cardboard box with small holes in it for air and put cat in it. Close box. Do not put your fingers through the box holes cuz kitties love to play like that and will scratch. Take him quickly to your neighborhood animal control and have them check to see if he has an implant chip. If he does, they will take the cat and notify the owner. Only downer is, once owner for cat is identified, you don’t get to keep the cat. But looks like you don’t want to anyway. Cats are beautiful creatures and most cats think people are their mommies. Most cats love to cuddle and can be so warm and comforting. You really should get to know this cat, let him sleep with you (after vet checks him out) because you are missing out on experiencing God’s angels on earth. Who knows, this cat could be your Dad’s best friend in a couple of years.

Answer #4

Cats find people.. You don’t find them.. lol I can understand why your dad is so afraid of him, it is kinda funny, but maybe he was Cat-clawed or bit as a kid.. Who knowns.. Anyway, point is.. The only one thing you can do, as much as I hate to say it, even if I am more of a Dog person.. lol Is take him to the pound..

Or keep him.. Or find someone to take him..

Answer #5

Answer #8

If you just want to keep it from coming close use a spray waterbottle - doesn’t hurt them and they don’t like it..Good luck !!

Answer #9

TAKE HIM TO YOU LOCAL SHELTER TO GET SCANNED FOR A MICRO CHIP. IF THE CAT HAS ONE IT WILL LOCATE ITS OWNER IF THE MICRO CHIP HAS BEEN UPDATED.

Answer #10

well as said before, make missing cat posters with the info and a pic of the cat. if you do not get a call back, then you either take it took a no-kill animal shelter, keep it, or find someone who wants a cat and just give it away. I have many stray cats out here. good luck!
