How do I take care of a stray cat that might remain outside?

I worry that this cat will have feline leukemia and if she does she can’t be in our home due to all of my other cats but we can take good care of her outside. We aren’t giving her up (we wouldn’t ever do that anyway) we are feeding her good food and she has water. She’s staying around and were going to get her into a crate and get her to the vet. But I need to know how to take care of her if she needs to be outdoors like shelter, feeding, keeping her safe. Also, we think she is pregnant. Yep. She also just had babies but we can’t find them. That’s a whole new question. We have very cold winters here and I want to know how to deal with that. Thanks so much!

Well, she’s a stray cat so she’s already accustomed to living outside on her own. Cats are independent and they’re capable of finding their own shelter and food. The feeding and water you provide her I guess makes it easier on her but you can’t really do much else for her babies.

We had a stray cat come to our porch 4 years ago. he was aggressive with hissing and growling and well it took him 4 years to really get used to us. We would feed him daily, keeping the food not so close to the door, but able to pet him weeks/months later, he’s skittish around everything, sound people, attempting to pick them up. Try creating a shelter, small enough like an old dog house or perhaps go shopping for a medium sized outdoors one, keep it close to your house, I mean she is independent in the wild, so she knows how to care for herself already. If you want to get her fixed right away, try to not force but get her trapped somehow or get animal rescue team near and call and tell them you have a stray cat that should be fixed, but you still want her in the area. Or like I said try getting her yourself, and getting her fixed, it’ll be best to not have feral/stray cats lurking around as much. If you need more info, you can contact me c;

I remember a couple years back I heard meowing in the forest behind my house, I looked till I found this cat. Soo since my mom was worried it had rabis or some other disease We put a huge box outside for shelter amd gave it food, and it stayed in there for a few nights. Then we put it in our garage, then let it in our house one day (which you shouldnt in case of diseases) So my mom asked around at work if anyone wanted a cat, one of her co-workers did. So her co-worker took it to the doctors and they had to put the cat down, it was in horrible shape

Answer #5

feed it
