Strait vs straight

What is the diffrence between strait and straight

Answer #1

I believe “strait” is for geographical things…like the strait of juan de fuca…

and “straight” is talking about the curviness of a line or whatever you’re defining.

so…you could say, “the strait of juan de fuca is very straight!” (whether it is or not…I don’t know.)
