What are the steps to getting into medical school if you have higher than a 2.0 but lower than a 3.0?

I know community college is a big part that has to take place but how and where is the best place to transfer? Do I have to apply for financial aid more than once?

Ok, until you have your GED or high school diploma…you can’t apply for undergraduate studies, an associates or anything.

AFTER you get one of those two, THEN you get your associates or bachelor’s. It’s THAT transcript that will be evaluated when you have a bachelor’s degree and apply to medical school…

so your GPA right not only matters for your two year or four year degree, and even now, you have another two years to make up the grades and improve your average.

Okay, well I’m still in highschool, my grades are very decent, no d’s or f’s, and I’m a little confused what a GED is. I can deffinetly get my Highschool diploma though. So once I graduate, you’re saying that I get my Bachelors or associates degree, at any college?

Answer #3

Your grades right now don’t really matter for medical school. What they will be looking at are your grades at the Bachelors level (an associates is not enough) and the MCAT. Your main aim right now is to get into college. So good grades are important for that, as well as the SATs of course. And I really hate to point this out, but decent grades are above a 3.5. To get into medical school you’re looking at a GPA of 3.75 and above in college. If you cannot get that in high school, what makes you think you’re going to get it in college? You really need to pull up your grades. In your junior year, start looking at colleges and talk to your advisor. You can go to community college first and transfer to a 4 year college.
