Should we be concerned about these STDs?

I have only had one sex partner the past year. I went and had a pap smear and they told me I had bacterial vaginosis, and later on that week chlymedia. That was my boyfriend and I first time having sex and we didnt use a condom…and that was my first time doing that no condom thing period. then he went to the doctor as well to get checked his came out negative. so we had sex this time but we used a condom, should I be concerned? Even before this occured I noticed I was have a yellowish stringy discharge, sometimes, could this be because of my birth control or what???

Sounds like I’d change clinics an try another place because if they told you like 2 different things then they do not know what they’re doing. Yes I would be very concerned because some STDs are not curable and all of them are dangerous so take caution.

First, bacterial vaginosis is not really an STD. It is caused by your naturally occurring bacteria getting out of balance. Condoms sometimes help in preventing vaginosis. Chlamydia is an STD that is easily cured, but both partners have to be treated. If you were a virgin (and didn’t have some strange transfer during a fingering incident) then it had to come from him. This is why condoms are a very good idea. (The discharge was probably from your vaginosis.)

Take care of youself, PRACTICE SAFE SEX, and Good Luck!!
