Why is the state of Maine not as popular as Florida, California, or Texas?

as well as some other states……..

Answer #1

I’m assuming that its because your state does not have any major atttactions. Texas is well known for the oil isn’t it? Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that all cowboy movies seem to relate to Texas?

Answer #2

Becuase its cold as hell up there…

Answer #3

Its just one of those things like would you rather go to maine on vacation or California??? The majority of it is because there are a lot of things to do there and it is a bigger state unlike main

Answer #4

Why is Greenland not as popular as Miami Beach?

Go to Maine next holiday, wear a Bikini and find a sand beach for yourself… that will help answering the question.

Answer #5

I think Maine and Nova Scotia are gorgeous. There is a lot of history and natural beauty but most of it is rather rural. I love Summer vacations there but I don’t think I’d like to live there because of the brutal winters.

Answer #6

no everyone just thinks it is cuz its way up north than any of you guys…its really hot in the summer…its not FREEZING! Like alaska or antartica…i dont understand why people think maines like antartica cuz it gets alot of snow in winter :P actually its 60-30 degrees alot of days which isnt THAT cold and on even chillier days its 30 degrees and lower….but if you wear winter clothes it wont be as bad :P…sweater, beanie, gloves…your good to go…

Answer #7

seasons go by fast as just as you know it you’ll be back outta school and hitting the beach again :P

Answer #8

Maine is beautiful and it’s a pretty big place, but there’s really not a lot up there due to the indian reservation islands. It’s probably expensive to live there too, or maybe I just think that because I live in New Hampshire right below Maine and we only have a food tax and we don’t have to have car insurance, whereas almost everywhere else has a sales tax on everything and car insurance is required by law. Haha.

Answer #9

.. Thank god for no sales tax in new hampshire.. I wouldnt be able to shop as much if there was !! hahaha (;

Answer #10

Well, california and florida have those picture perfect beaches.. No rocks, clean.. white sand, reflecting blue water..

But .. in Maine ( I go there all the time.. figuring Im in Massachusetts ) .. they have extremely rocky, small beaches. There are a few nice beaches, but they are not what 90% of people on vacation would want to visit. The water is usually dark, and has lots of seaweed and is not as fun to swim in… this is just from experience. I love Maine and I will continue to visit it constantly throughout the year, but it’s not a big tourist attraction.

PS: To everyone who thinks Maine is cold, in the summer it can get as hot as it would in California, but it just doesn’t stay like that throughout the whole year. Which in my opinion I love, because I get tired of summer after a few months, and then I get tired of winter after a few months, so its on and off and its really nice!

Answer #11

You are trying to compare poor little Maine to the Big three. You cant do that. It is not even fair. Why Disneyland funner than the Oregon state Fair? jeeeesh!

Answer #12

No car Insurance?!??!? How do you even manage?

Answer #13

yeah i didnt know about the car insurance.. but the sales tax thing is like heaven!

Answer #14

Well being one who is from Cali, and never gets bored of the many things that are here to do, for me the biggest advantage are the beaches…long coastlines with very good weather all year round. I’m sure Maine has many perks and advantages but only you could say, and besides, we get those pesky earthquakes that happen all the time, so when we slip into the pacific one day you will still be solid as a rock :D. Oh! and btw, I’m going to the beach tomorrow.

Answer #15

i live in central california on the coast, and we have the best weather, not too cold and not too hot. it never gets hotter than 80 or colder than around 50 in the daytime.
