I dont think spanking is ever necessary… but too young is when the kid has no idea what they’re doing wrong… You’re not going to spank a 2 year old…

People who hit their kids are basically abusing them. I would never hit my child. How is your kid going to want to come to you for comfort and for advice when there is the fear of them being physically abused?? It’s outdated and barbaric in my opinion.

There is rarely any need to spank.

Children can be reared without corporal punishment. Try taking a parenting course to learn non-violent methods of raising children.

I have 3 children who have never been spanked. Two of them are teenagers now and they’re all very good kids.

spaking is pretty much abuse and abusing your child when theyve done something wrong is never a good punishment because it wont teach them anything all it will do is increase there chances of being abusive themselves there are better ways to punish a child than hitting them like grounding them, taking away there toys or privaleges like the tv or internet

I’ve been since around 4-6 I guess? Maybe younger, I can’t really remember. I don’t recommend it whatsoever, though. If you knew me, you’d know why.

No I got spanked if I was being a dastardly little moron and I never threw a fit in shop and save again…because I was scared of being spanked. Time out doesn’t do the damn trick, it’s five or ten minutes and then nothing really happens. what’s the lesson from time outs? If I do something bad my parents make me take a break for a while sheesh. Spanking is not child abuse. People are just zealots these days. Funny… I was spanked as a child regularly… and now I AM a liberal. Not only that, but I think spanking SHOULD still be used. Hmmm… I guess that means your little ‘’what is wrong our world today’’ rant isn’t so absolute…
